About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to support a top financial services company based in Makati. This senior-level role focuses on data migration, integration, and validation while providing leadership in team and stakeholder management. You will be part of a highly technical environment, contributing to critical data initiatives that impact business operations.

This is a hybrid setup (onsite once a week in Makati), offering a strong balance of flexibility, collaboration, and exposure to a leading financial institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines with a focus on data migration, integration, and validation.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for large and complex datasets (deduplication, transformations, performance tuning).
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Lead and mentor team members to ensure high-quality outputs and effective delivery.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with clear, solution-oriented communication.
  • Work with international teams to align deliverables (solution design handled by the Netherlands team).
Must-Have Skills
  • SQL mastery – ability to design, optimize, and troubleshoot queries (priority skill; tested in interview).
  • Strong Data Engineering background with hands-on project delivery.
  • Solid Data Analysis and validation skills.
  • Python (working knowledge) – comfortable with scripts and willing to retool into Drools (training provided).
  • Leadership experience in team and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in data migration, data integration, and data validation projects.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Familiarity with ETL tools (Datastage, ADF, SSIS, Informatica).
  • Experience working in Banking/Financial Services environments.
  • Exposure to Data Science with openness to retool into Data Engineering.
