Job Description
The responsibilities of the Product Controller are:
- Prepare, review, and oversee daily Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting related to trading activities.
- Perform exception reporting, conduct balance sheet substantiation, and manage account reconciliations.
- Monitor product performance and conduct trend analysis to identify areas for optimization.
- Deliver accurate financial reports and forecasts to support strategic business decisions.
- Contribute to risk assessment processes and support initiatives to minimize financial risks.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across all financial reporting and documentation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems, tools, and processes for greater efficiency.
- Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Product Controller should have:
- Educational background in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Hands-on expertise in Product Control, particularly in FX, Rates, or Equities within a multinational financial institution
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are considered an asset
- Skilled in MS Excel, with familiarity in MS Access, VBA, or Robotics Process Automation (RPA) tools
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards in the banking and financial services industry
- Analytical mindset with a focus on financial accuracy, performance, and reporting
- Effective in managing stakeholders across different teams and cultural backgrounds
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure
