Primary Purpose of Position:

The Accounts Receivable Accountant will support Finance and Administrative functions for SMEC branches and subsidiaries, focusing on Accounts Receivable transactions, debt management, reconciliation, and reporting.

The Accountant will collaborate with the Team Lead to implement debtor management processes across Surbana Jurong Group and subsidiaries. Responsibilities include entering or processing transactions, troubleshooting errors, improving processes, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and issue Accounts Receivable documentation, including invoices, statements, and reminders.
  • Raise invoices and credit notes in Epicor/SAP, managing client contacts and project data to ensure accuracy and alignment with debtor requests on SharePoint.
  • Respond to or resolve A/R inquiries related to invoicing, statements, reminders, and credit notes.
  • Interpret client contracts to ensure proper and timely invoice preparation.
  • Review invoices, credit notes, and client statements before posting or distribution.
  • Meet SLA processing timeframes; escalate potential deadline issues to the Finance Team Lead or Manager.
  • Update process documentation related to A/R activities.
  • Perform billing, collection, and reporting activities within deadlines.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
