THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a long-standing Australian insurance company with over 100 years of trusted service. As part of their ongoing digital transformation, they're looking to hire a Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to help drive the development of secure and scalable internal platforms. In this role, you'll work across the full stack with a strong focus on Ruby on Rails, contributing to architectural decisions and backend systems. This is a foundation role aimed at expanding the engineering team and setting the stage for future technical growth. This is a hybrid position, requiring onsite work in Manila on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain software solutions using Ruby on Rails, .NET, and JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React.
  • Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, and development practices within the team.
  • Take ownership of features from concept to deployment, including testing, debugging, and support.
  • Collaborate with team members across locations, contributing to a transparent and communicative remote culture.
Skills, Experience & Qualification
  • 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Solid hands-on experience with jQuery, AJAX, HTML & CSS.
  • Basic experience with .NET (C#) and Unit Testing Framework (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest) for backend service integration or legacy system support.
  • Knowledge of Single Sign-On / Entra integration.
  • Competence with REST APIs for various frontend and backend frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Angular or React (at least one modern JS framework).
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, and DevOps or CI/CD practices.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization tools.
