The Client
A remote-first technology team based in Australia , focused on building a new and innovative product. As we prepare for an upcoming product launch, we're looking to expand our team with experienced Ruby on Rails engineers who are passionate about shipping high-quality software in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The Role
We're seeking
1-2 Mid to Senior-Level Ruby on Rails Engineers
to join our team and contribute directly to the development of our core product. You will be working on a
monolithic Rails application
, playing a key role in feature development, system architecture, and ensuring a scalable and maintainable codebase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain features in a large Rails monolith
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to define and implement solutions
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term development strategies
  • Ensure product stability and performance ahead of the upcoming launch

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
  • Experience working on monolithic Rails applications
  • Familiarity with best practices for testing (RSpec, Minitest, etc.)
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with DevOps and deployment pipelines
  • Background in early-stage product development or startups
  • Experience with frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Stimulus)

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 7am-4pm

Work Location:

  • Homebased; must have strong internet at home; Equipment is provided.
