Job Description

Position/Scope:

  • To prepare customs entry by entering commercial invoice data for Customs brokerage in compliance with the national regulatory provisions and in adherence to the company's policies and procedures.
  • To perform tasks as requested, including, but not exclusive to, assisting in general Brokerage operations.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the job to the Brokerage Supervisor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter data & value for import and export products for customs clearance.
  • Accurately update systems databases with appropriate information.
  • Ensure shipments data entered within specified timeframes in line with approved Key Performance Indicators.
  • Liaise professionally and cordially with customers both internal and external.
  • Respond to all queries in a timely manner as defined by standard operational procedure.
  • Complete designated training within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Government Regulations
  • Standard Operational Procedures for Customs Import Operations, including Expeditors KPI's
  • ICS and Expedient systems
  • Geography
  • Accounting System
  • International freight Shipping terms
  • Know the Mission statement and Expeditors Attributes
  • General Mathematical knowledge, including but not exclusive to, dealing with Exchange Rates, Foreign Currency and General Ledger
  • Complete understanding of the movement of Goods

Skills:

  • Competent use of Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Competent use of Outlook email system
  • Competent use of the Expedient and the ICS system
  • Competent and courteous communication and phone manner

  • Self motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Versatility, to be able to jump easily from one task to another
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer satisfaction focused.
