Legal Management Officer

Job Description:
The Legal Management/ Compliance Officer ensures that the corporate direction of the company complies with all laws, DOLE mandated guidelines, and other government agency rules and regulations. Ensures that all possible legal risk is managed on a day-to-day basis in all phases of the company operations. Controls all operating documents to ensure that they are compliant with all government and third-party audits standards. Monitors all contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, employees, and other third-party partners with the objective of maintaining company operations in good standing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors all employee contracts and company documents to identify legal risk and ensure that corrective measures and supporting documents are in place.
- Reviews all service agreements with clients, suppliers, and other third-party contracts prior to implementation to ensure that company interests are protected and risks are managed.
- Monitors all client service agreements from negotiation, implementation, record keeping, and renewals. Ensures all company contracts are controlled and confidential information is protected.
- Acts as secondary Data Privacy Officer, supporting the Data Privacy Officer or in their absence.
- Keeps abreast of all laws, government rulings, memoranda, circulars, and new issuances affecting the service business and the business community in general.
- Informs management of legal risks or rulings that could affect the way business is conducted and suggests measures for compliance and risk management.
- Attends meetings with clients, suppliers, and employees as needed for proper legal guidance and support to company key personnel.
- Represents the company in all legal appearances required with DOLE, NLRC, SSS, and other agencies, subject to prior consultation and approval from management.
- Attends to clients, government, and other third-party operating audits or inspections, maintaining all legal and corporate documents updated and in order.
- Prepares a weekly summary report of employee incidents and disciplinary actions to prevent escalation to labor relations issues.
- Creates a monthly report on the status of legal compliance with recommendations for improvement and summaries of employee incidents that could lead to labor cases.
- Acts on behalf of the business unit supervisor in extreme cases where company exigency requires, familiarizing oneself with all client general operating guidelines.
- Participates in other tasks and events related to the company or its clients.
- Performs other tasks as needed to ensure operating efficiency and submits reports to top management as requested.
