
Business Process Engineer

We are seeking a Business Process Engineer to support process improvement initiatives, including process automation solutions and quality improvements, in partnership with GSSC functions and global stakeholders. The focus is on process re-engineering, reducing process gaps and variations, and executing the continuous improvement framework.
Responsibilities- Identify opportunities for improvement, measure process efficiencies, validate improvement benefits, and partner with the business to perform continuous improvement activities.
- Establish and maintain process governance and framework; identify cross-functional processes through scoping, analysis, and definition of best practices (internal and external to the organisation).
- Manage continuous improvement programs for the GSSC (e.g., Kaizen/Idea Generation).
- Ensure continuous improvement methods are implemented consistently across the centre Top Down, Bottom Up, and Cross-functional.
- Partner with Operations to align and prioritise initiatives and monitor until completion.
- Roll out and facilitate CI Forums such as Kaizen, CI, and OE Forums.
- Conduct CI workshops (Kaizen, Lean/Six Sigma, RCA, FMEA) with the business and service delivery teams in the organisation.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with local and onshore stakeholders.
- Utilise leading practice methods and tools to document as-is processes and design to-be processes when needed.
- Perform ongoing reviews to ensure customer needs are met.
- Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Required Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Competencies/Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written English communication; comfortable dealing with all levels of management (GSSC and onshore).
- Excellent workshop facilitation and data gathering skills.
- Process flow design and optimisation.
- Project management skills from implementation to completion.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with process automation tools.
- Proficient in desktop data applications such as Power BI and Excel.
- Adaptable to change and able to work in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives across centre-wide and regional projects.
- Strong agility and flexibility.
- Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years in as-is process discovery and to-be process modelling and analysis, using structured methodologies with proven results.
- Led multiple CI projects delivering tangible benefits.
- At least 1 year experience in the financial services industry, preferably in insurance.
- At least 2 years relevant experience in general management, leadership and team coaching.
- Experience in a consulting or shared services environment.
- Graduate degree in Business, Engineering or related disciplines.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent.
- Preferred Knowledge:
- Knowledge in process and data analysis.
- Knowledge in Lean/Six Sigma, Quality Management.
- Knowledge of Process Maturity Framework.
- Understanding of risk and internal control concepts and their application to evaluating business processes and areas/functions.
- Understanding of metrics definition, implementation and analysis; ability to provide insights.
- Application of CI tools such as process mining or statistical tools.
- Awareness of Agile (Scrum) practice and/or Project Management.
- Knowledge of the Insurance industry is preferred.
