Job Title: Accounting Supervisor (US)

Work Setup & Schedule:

  • Hybrid (9PM to 6AM)

What you'll be doing:

1. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for investment funds.
  • Ensure that all financial reports are accurate, timely, and in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for investors.

2. Fund Valuation

  • Calculate the net asset value (NAV) of funds, including reviewing valuations of portfolio assets, ensuring accuracy in pricing, and maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Reconcile the NAV to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and accurate.

3. Transaction Processing

  • Oversee and process daily, weekly, or monthly fund transactions, including capital calls, distributions, and investments.
  • Ensure that all trade transactions are recorded correctly in the fund's accounting system.

4. Compliance and Regulation

  • Ensure the fund is in compliance with accounting regulations and any applicable tax laws.
  • Assist with audits, ensuring accurate financial records and preparing documentation for external auditors.

5. Investor Communication

  • Coordinate and prepare information for investors, including performance reports, account statements, and tax-related documents.
  • Address investor queries related to fund performance and accounting matters.

6. Internal Controls

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations between bank accounts, general ledgers, and fund investments.

7. Cash Management

  • Monitor the cash flow of the fund, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and investment purposes.
  • Track and manage the fund's cash positions and ensure proper documentation of all cash transactions.

8. Tax Reporting

  • Prepare and review tax-related reports for the fund, including tax filings and compliance with tax laws.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax documents for investors, such as K-1s or other necessary forms.

What will make you a great fit:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
  • 1-3 years of experience in fund accounting or a related financial services role.
  • Familiarity with specific fund types, such as family offices, venture capital, hedge funds, private equity, or mutual funds.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA or CFA preferred).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QBO, NetSuite), Microsoft Excel, and other financial tools.
  • Deep knowledge of formulas including building out model is a plus.
  • Ability to manage complex data and ensure high levels of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for investor reporting and internal coordination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Can work independently and can collaborate effectively when needed
