POSITION PURPOSE

The Design Assistant will play a crucial role in contributing to the success of design projects and ensuring efficient collaboration across the Hampshire Group and within the design team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TODESIGN EXECUTION
  1. Detail floorplans and mood boards with precision and creativity.
  2. Coordinate design orders, managing Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) across diverse suppliers and parks.
  3. Plan space utilization, layout, and decoration, incorporating colour, furniture, and fixtures.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
  1. Develop drawings, presentations, and cost estimates for design projects.
  2. Coordinate and oversee contractors for seamless project execution.
  3. Collaborate with the internal design team, ensuring effective coordination.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
  1. Prepare and develop drawings, models, images, and materials related to the design.
  2. Create conceptual sketches, renderings, and illustrations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients.
CLIENT INTERACTION
  1. Participate in client meetings, discussing design plans, and gathering feedback on preliminary designs.
DOCUMENTATION AND COORDINATION
  1. Review construction documents to ensure specifications meet design requirements.
  2. Assist in researching furniture options, obtaining supplier samples, and updating supplier and budget spreadsheets with proficient Excel skills.
POSITIVE TEAM COLLABORATION
  1. Maintain a friendly, can-do attitude, offering assistance as needed.
  2. Coordinate and collaborate with the internal design team.
OTHER
  1. Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure consistent and compliant operations within the company.
  2. Uphold and promote the company's values and behaviours, always setting a positive example.
  3. Perform any other duties relevant to the role as requested by the manager.
