Interior Designer

The Interior Designer is responsible for designing interior fit-out projects to make spaces functional, safe, and presentable by determining space requirements and selecting decorative items, such as colors, lightning, and materials. Their main role is to furnish complete FF&E drawings and specifications as needed by the project.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design Management

  • Responsible mainly for design conceptualization and space planning of interior design projects, FF&E specification, material selections, and color palette schemes.
  • Maintain close coordination with Project Architect and Engineer regarding material specifications and drawing details.
  • Will be in-charge of creating concept boards, mood boards, material boards, and interior renderings.
  • Work closely with tenant relations and partner furniture suppliers during the design development stage and with QS procurement team during tender bidding stage.
  • In charge of material sourcing for architectural and interior material library/archive.
  • Research concepts and materials to support design team on technical issues influencing concept development.
  • Ensures that specifications are in line with budget without affecting aesthetics and ergonomics.

2. Production Management

  • Provide timely and clear mark ups for CAD.
  • Responsible for production of contract drawings in coordination with CAD team.
  • Produces render outputs for, but not limited to, presentation and marketing purposes.

3. Quality Management

  • Conduct periodic site visits to ensure quality of interior design execution.
  • Attending regular meetings with the SPARC project team, contractors, design consultants, suppliers, and other specialists as relevant in the project.
  • Ensures that design and production drawings are in line with the project requirements, governing laws, and local ordinances.

4. Team and Personal Development

  • Constantly coordinates with Architects to familiarize oneself with the project.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest trend in interior design and application.
  • Liaise with QS-TL to ensure that design output is within budget and PM area manager to ensure that drawing/document submissions are in line with project schedule.

5. Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Interior Design
  • Must be a duly licensed Interior Designer
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Vray, Enscape or Lumion, Sketchup, and Photoshop/Corel/Illustrator/Lightroom
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in interior design and construction, producing and consolidating construction documents
  • With relevant work engagement in designing, and team and site coordination
  • With experience in presentation to client/owner
  • Having experience working with developers or real estate companies is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in Architectural and Interior Design codes, laws and regulations, fire regulations, building guidelines, an relevant LGU codes.
  • Adept at design & planning of residential and commercial interior specs, and problem solving.
  • In-depth knowledge of furniture systems and finishes and familiar with the latest trends and material costs.
  • With a large pool of suppliers and their contacts
