Compensation range: $2000AUD - $2500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Our client is a leadership consultancy specializing in people strategy and talent optimization.

Role Overview

To design and deliver marketing campaigns that consistently generate qualified leads, amplify the client’s bold brand, and fuel revenue growth.

As an independent contractor, this role is engaged to own the marketing function month-to-month: setting campaign priorities, writing compelling copy that speaks to our audience, and ensuring all creative outputs from the design and video team are delivered on time, on brand, and to purpose.

The Marketing Manager is the voice and architect of the client’s marketing — responsible for turning strategy into campaigns, copy, and content that move prospects through the buyer journey, support sales, and strengthen client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Deliverables & Outcomes (updated)

Each month, the Marketing Manager will receive a scope/brief from the CEO and be responsible for ensuring delivery across the creative team.

Examples of deliverables include:

  • Campaign Management: Plan and launch 1–2 multi-channel campaigns (HubSpot EDMs, landing pages, social amplification).
  • Copywriting: Write (or refine) all core campaign copy, including:
    • EDMs and nurture sequences
    • Video Sales Letters (VSLs)
    • Landing pages and lead magnets
    • Ad copy for LinkedIn/Facebook
    • Sales enablement copy (e.g., one-pagers, pitch decks, webinar invites)
  • Newsletters: Oversee the client’s Digest & PI Digest to ensure they are delivered on time and performing. (Execution sits with the Digital Marketing role.)
  • Creative Oversight: Review, proof, and approve content produced by the Digital Marketing Specialist and Senior Video Editor.
  • Content Calendar: Manage a rolling calendar covering newsletters, campaigns, and repurposed thought leadership.
  • Re-engagement Campaigns: Coordinate at least 1 campaign per month targeting alumni, trained individuals, or past clients.
  • HubSpot Operations: Oversee workflows, automations, and segmentation for lead nurture and reporting.
  • Reporting: Submit a monthly marketing performance report with insights and 2–3 recommendations.
Success Measures
  • Compelling copy: Messaging is on-brand, audience-relevant, and aligned to the buyer journey.
  • On-brand content: All creative outputs are proofed, aligned, and ready for market.
  • Minimal rework: Copy and creative require no more than one round of feedback to finalise.
  • Timeliness: Campaigns and assets delivered within the monthly brief and deadlines.
  • Lead generation: Consistent flow of qualified MQLs from campaigns.
  • HubSpot adoption: Campaigns, workflows, and reporting are functional and in active use.
  • Internal alignment: Sales and Delivery teams report that campaigns directly support their goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications Skills & Expertise
  • 6+ years of B2B marketing experience (consulting, HR tech, or professional services ideal).
  • Exceptional copywriting skills: able to craft email templates, nurture sequences, VSL scripts, landing page copy, and ad campaigns that convert.
  • Strong storytelling and positioning ability — able to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling campaigns, speaking directly to our ICP.
  • HubSpot expertise (setup, workflows, automation, reporting).
  • Experience managing and proofing work from designers and video editors.
  • Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on writing and campaign delivery.
  • Experience story producing video content (overseeing an editor) to capture the right message, story, and impact. Able to guide a video editor in shaping long-form footage into concise, high-impact edits.
  • Skilled at briefing, managing, and proofing work from designers and video editors.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder communication.
  • Analytical mindset — able to test messaging and refine based on performance.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written + verbal).
