Overview

The Production Planner generates and executes an effective load plan to achieve high Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This role involves monitoring daily schedules, managing inventory, assessing capacity, and proactively communicating with various teams to ensure production goals are met and customer requirements are supported. The Production Planner will be an active and integral member of the Daily Cell Huddle, providing critical information and identifying potential issues to maintain a smooth and efficient manufacturing process.

Responsibilities Planning & Scheduling
  • Generate and maintain an effective load plan that yields high OEE.
  • Monitor the daily start schedule to ensure alignment with machine and tooling capacity limitations.
  • Validate declared capacity against actual manufacturing performance and escalate any discrepancies.
  • Review weekly commitments, highlighting and resolving any issues impacting customer requirements or metrics.
  • Assess the current week\'s volume upside/pull-ins and expedite needs.
Operations & Inventory Management
  • Actively participate in the Daily Cell Huddle.
  • Provide the Operations Group with daily information on:
  • Die inventory (WIP + die availability) and in-transit information/unloaded dice.
  • Hot lots, lines down, and critical lots.
  • Daily loading plan and capacity utilization.
  • WIP build-up, WIP surge, and WIP bubble.
  • Potential issues that may affect cycle time, On-Time Delivery (OTD), or shipment goals.
Coordination & Communication
  • Support manufacturing initiatives for cycle time reduction.
  • Proactively communicate with internal customers about any potential issues in eWB (OTD) and delinquencies.
  • Coordinate with various groups (e.g., Mfg Staff, IE, CV CSR, ACO, Engineering, Purchasing, Staff/Mgt) on any issues that impact loading.
Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze incoming inventory (at least 2 weeks of demand) to anticipate and prevent potential line issues.
  • Assess manufacturing work schedules based on die availability and critical requirements.
  • Provide daily monitoring of output for critical products/areas.
  • Responsible for obtaining accurate reports of manufacturing indices (eWB, delinquency, WIP situation).
  • Update the Planning Profile.
General
  • Performs other functions as may be assigned from time to time by superiors.
Prerequisites Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
  • Proven experience in production planning, materials management, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Experience with inventory management and production scheduling software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
