As a Service Technician for Heavy Equipments, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery. You will play a critical role in maximizing the uptime of these vehicles and equipment while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities- Equipment Inspection and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough inspections of trucks and heavy equipment to identify any mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems accurately. Assess the condition of components and systems to determine the extent of repairs needed.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure optimal performance and longevity of vehicles and machinery. Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and other critical components. Replace defective parts and components with genuine replacements according to manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Analyze malfunctions and breakdowns to determine root causes and develop effective solutions. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to resolve issues efficiently. Implement preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of future breakdowns.
- Technical Support and Training: Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers and colleagues regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance personnel on best practices for equipment usage and care.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities using digital or paper-based systems. Generate detailed reports on equipment status, repair histories, and service schedules. Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and management in a clear and concise manner.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations related to waste disposal and chemical handling. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence among team members and clients.
- Any certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in servicing trucks, heavy equipment, or similar vehicles in a technical capacity.
- Willing to be trained
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for onsite repairs and maintenance as needed.
