The Purchasing Supervisor also supervises the purchasing team, coordinates with suppliers, and collaborates with other departments to support operational requirements. Duties and Responsibilities • Supervise and lead the purchasing team in handling procurement activities. • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and ensure timely delivery. • Review, evaluate, and approve purchase requisitions and orders. • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and high-quality products/services. • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure reliability and consistency in supply. • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, or contract terms. • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, budget guidelines, and regulatory requirements. • Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation for audit and tracking purposes. • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. • Coordinate with various departments (operations, finance, warehouse, etc.) to determine purchasing needs and priorities. • Train, mentor, and evaluate purchasing staff to ensure professional growth and efficiency. • Participate in budget planning, forecasting, and procurement cost analysis. • Handle escalated issues or disputes with suppliers in a professional and timely manner.
