Industrial Engineer Job Responsibilities Monitors operations with an eye toward improving productivity and efficiency. Designs efficient production processes and workflows. Ensures that processes are designed to ensure that products meet quality standards. Reduces waste and addresses production issues. Reviews production schedules, processes, and specifications. Evaluates data to implement technological improvements in production processes. Implements controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues. Identifies potential locations and determines facility design. Works with other departments to develop design and production standards. Prepares inventory analysis and procurement purchase orders to address production needs. Designs facility layout and personnel requirements in relation to production operations. Helps to develop instruction manuals for production personnel. Hires, trains, and oversees production personnel. Ensures that work processes are safe and addresses safety issues and concerns. Generates process documentation and reports. Works with technical writers to prepare client and customer proposals. Industrial Engineer Skills and Qualifications Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards in the field or industry Understanding of lean manufacturing and supply-chain management Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Just In Time (JIT) strategizing Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Data analytics skills and experience Attention to detail Understanding of ergonomics Project management skills Strong communication and presentation skills Organizational, planning, and documentation skills Adept at using presentation software and presenting complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously Past use of Agile/Scrum or similar collaborative tools a plus Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms Experience using System Applications and Products (SAP) software. Industrial Engineer Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements BS in industrial engineering or related field such as manufacturing or mechanical engineering, required 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment Master’s degree in engineering a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
