Job Description (Overview)The role involves managing procurement and purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging, food and beverage supplies, and related services. Responsibilities include supplier sourcing and evaluation, bid solicitation, price negotiation, issuing and tracking purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The position may involve coordinating with operations, finance, and other departments to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement that supports business goals.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers; negotiate contracts and terms.
- Issue and manage purchase orders; monitor deliveries and lead times.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align procurement with business needs.
- Ensure accuracy of purchasing records and documentation; support audits as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with finance for budgeting and cost controls.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2-8 years of purchasing/procurement experience depending on the listing (e.g., in food & beverage, hospitality, construction, or luxury segments).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor-management skills.
- Proficiency with procurement software and MS Office; ability to analyze data and manage vendor performance.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Willingness to travel or relocate as required by the role (if stated).
