As a Purchasing Manager – Imports, you will oversee all aspects of purchasing, demand planning, and supplier management — ensuring that the right products arrive at the right time, every time. Responsibilities Lead and mentor a remote purchasing team, providing training, guidance, and feedback. Establish KPIs and streamline processes to maintain performance with minimal supervision. Oversee sourcing and purchasing across multiple product lines. Review and approve purchase orders (POs), verify requests, and secure necessary approvals. Negotiate pricing, summarize supplier offers, and prepare cost and margin analyses. Analyze historical sales data to forecast product demand and plan optimal order quantities. Maintain accurate purchasing and cost‑calculation files with real‑time data. Approve product artwork and ensure compliance with Australian biosecurity and food‑safety regulations. Track global inventory levels, turnover rates, and upcoming expiries. Collaborate with logistics, sales, and local purchasing teams in Australia. Provide concise, meaningful updates to senior management. Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in food‑industry procurement or supply‑chain management, including import/export operations. Proven leadership experience managing a remote purchasing or procurement team. Strong background in sales forecasting, demand planning, and data analysis. Proficiency in ERP systems (eSuite preferred) and advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills. Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal). Non‑negotiable. Pricing or data analysis background in purchasing. A reliable internet connection and the ability to work a PH day shift aligned with Brisbane (8 AM – 5 PM AEST).
