Position

What does a SAP Basis Analyst do?

Sealed Air Shared Service (Philippines) Inc. is looking for a skilled SAP Basis Analyst (CHARM) to join our IT Operations team. You will manage and support SAP technical environments and lead SAP Change Request Management (CHARM) processes. This role involves administering the SAP system, patching, upgrading, and performance tuning, as well as managing transport landscapes using CHARM in SAP Solution Manager.

Responsibilities – SAP Basis

• Install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.).
• Perform system copies, client copies, backups/restores, and SAP kernel upgrades.
• Monitor SAP system performance and perform tuning as needed.
• Manage SAP users, roles, and authorizations.
• Perform daily health checks and resolve technical issues.
• Manage databases (HANA, Oracle, MSSQL, etc.) and OS-related tasks in coordination with DBAs and system admins.
• Work closely with functional and development teams to support SAP projects.
• Ensure system compliance with IT policies and SAP best practices.
• Plan and execute system refreshes, patches, and maintenance tasks.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation and knowledge base.

CHARM (SAP Solution Manager)

• Configure and support SAP CHARM functionalities for transport and change control.
• Set up workflows for change management and approvals.
• Integrate CHARM with dual/multi-system landscapes (DEV/QAS/PRD).
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure smooth change control processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot CHARM issues (e.g., transport errors, workflow failures).
• Ensure compliance with audit and security standards in transport management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP BASIS administration.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with SAP CHARM in Solution Manager.
• Strong knowledge of SAP system architecture, transport routes, and landscape design.
• Experience with HANA DB, Oracle, SQL Server, or other SAP-supported databases.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA upgrades/migrations is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SAP security concepts and user administration.
• SAP certifications in BASIS or Solution Manager (optional but preferred).
• Experience with high-availability setups and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Experience with Watchdog alerting & Monitoring Solution is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
