Job Summary

Our client is looking for a Senior Backend Java Developer . The position is based in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines , with an onsite work arrangement .

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain secure Java backend systems compliant with financial industry regulations and secure coding practices (e.g. OWASP)
  • Create and enhance core application, leveraging experience in container applications and end-to-end programming - from requirements gathering to automated deployment
  • Analyze data flows, system architectures, and processes to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party financial APIs, ensuring robust and scalable connectivity
  • Implement and manage connections with payment gateways, financial institutions, and other key partners
  • Resolve defects effectively and demonstrate a deep understanding of backend engineering responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business needs, providing tailored solutions that drive value
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in financial systems and applications
  • Partner close with cross-functions teams - including Finance, Business Development, Customer Care - to translate business requirements into technical deliverables
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of backend development experience, with focus on fintech or related domains
  • Expertise in Java, Spring Framework, advanced proficiency in Spring Boot (a must) and related technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Gradle, AWS Lambda, Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Git, MySQL, Hibernate
  • Proficiency in deploying applications using GIT, Code pipeline, and CI/CD tools
  • Deep familiarity with financial APIs, payment gateways, and third-party integrations
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial systems, including payments, transactions, and compliance frameworks (e.g. PCI DSS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
