The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for leading the demand planning function to ensure accurate forecasts that drive efficient production, inventory management, and customer fulfillment. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Logistics teams to align demand forecasts with business goals and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the demand planning process across all product lines, leveraging statistical forecasting tools and market intelligence.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotions, and seasonality to build accurate short-term and long-term forecasts.
  • Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and inventory plans.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to gather input and validate demand assumptions.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve forecasting models and processes.
  • Identify and analyze demand variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide insights and reports on forecast performance, inventory levels, and risks to supply chain stakeholders.
  • Support new product launches by incorporating business intelligence and promotional activities into forecasts.
  • Work closely with production and supply planning teams to optimize production schedules and inventory turnover.
  • Utilize ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) to manage demand data and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5–10 years of experience in demand planning, preferably in the food or FMCG manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with proficiency in Excel and demand planning tools (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, Kinaxis).
  • Deep understanding of supply chain principles, S&OP, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
