Position Summary The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts and ensuring optimal inventory levels to support production, sales, and customer service goals. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Production, Procurement, and Logistics teams to align the demand plan with supply capabilities and market trends, ensuring smooth manufacturing operations and minimal stockouts or excesses. Key Responsibilities 1. Forecasting & Demand Planning Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts using statistical models, historical data, and market intelligence. Review sales trends, seasonality, and customer orders to predict demand accurately. Lead monthly demand planning and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings with cross‑functional teams. 2. Inventory & Production Coordination Align demand forecasts with production schedules and material requirements. Monitor inventory levels to balance availability with working capital targets. Recommend adjustments to safety stock, reorder points, and lead times based on demand fluctuations. 3. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze forecast accuracy and identify root causes of variances. Generate demand and inventory reports to support decision‑making. Provide visibility on potential risks (e.g., shortages, surpluses, supplier delays) and recommend corrective actions. 4. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to capture market insights and promotional impacts. Support Procurement in planning raw material requirements based on demand forecasts. Coordinate with Logistics for on‑time delivery and optimal inventory distribution. 5. Continuous Improvement Implement forecasting tools, systems, and best practices to enhance planning accuracy. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in demand planning and supply chain efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 3–5 years experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Experience with statistical forecasting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or specialized planning software) is an advantage. Knowledge of production processes and materials management is preferred.
