Role overview

The Sales Team Leader oversees the Laboratory sub-team operations, drives the team growth strategy, and implements projects and plans to achieve departmental targets.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Laboratory sub-team operations and manage the formulation and direction of the team growth strategy and project implementation
  • Ensure effective management of the team KPIs and profitable performance driven by an engaged team achieving sales targets and KPIs
  • Plan and lead the team according to country development strategies
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and values in all operational activities
  • Support delivery of marketing campaigns and maintain/develop customers through quality service
  • Provide periodic performance reports to the Manager/Leadership team
  • Monitor development of a qualified customer database for targeted segments; guide key account management to achieve high customer satisfaction
  • Support design and execution of marketing campaigns, lead generation, and management activities
  • Participate in sales visits to key customers to build relationships and become their preferred vendor
  • Articulate technology and product positioning to business and technical users to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide expertise on product/technical information to the team and customers; support technology evaluation stages
  • Communicate regulatory compliance requirements and MT’s market leadership
  • Support interactions with customers’ engineering teams to illustrate MT’s value proposition
  • Provide support at field events (conferences, seminars, etc.) and lead negotiations when needed
  • Prepare cost estimates with the sales team by studying blueprints, plans, and related documents
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; monitor CRM activity and customer communications
  • Contribute to customer acceptance by explaining cost reductions, regulatory compliance, and productivity improvements
  • Develop team members by communicating objectives and contributing to their sales performance
  • Encourage team members to stay informed on local market conditions and identify trends to drive improvements
What you need to succeed

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to develop and execute business strategies and plans
  • Ability to read and understand basic financial reports
  • Minimum 5 years in a technical sales environment with supervision experience
  • Understanding of sales and distribution with project management skills
  • Ability to travel extensively within the Philippines
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Basic proficiency in English

Preferred:

  • Experience in employee management and empowering leadership
  • Industrial knowledge of targeted segments: Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food, and System Integrators
  • Understanding of technical/scientific equipment manufacturing and marketing initiatives
