WordPress development and customization experience (1+ year) – including theme editing, child theme creation, and plugin installation Proficiency in English and Filipino both oral and written. HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript / PHP coding skills – especially within WordPress theme implementation Experience using Figma / Photoshop / Illustrator for UI design and asset creation. Proficiency in at least one design tool (Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator) is sufficient for this position. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in at least one design tool from Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator, with expertise in all four tools not being required. Must provide a portfolio (URL or screenshots) with application. Portfolio submissions must be provided in screenshots or PDF compilation format with application. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. An interest in Japan is essential. And willing to work onsite only. Basic cultural awareness of Japan is required to demonstrate your interest in Japanese culture. Knowledge, Skills and Responsibilities: Responsive and mobile-first design experience Basic understanding of SEO and performance optimization Familiarity with Git / GitHub / GitLab version control Basic UI/UX knowledge or usability testing experience Experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Alpine.js) Knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG) standards Experience with server/domain migration or maintenance Ability to read basic technical documentation in English or Japanese Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins Edit and implement designs into responsive HTML/CSS/JS code Design and optimize web layouts, banners, and UI components using Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator Ensure website compatibility across devices and browsers Collaborate with developers, designers, and project managers to meet project goals and timelines Perform basic SEO setup (metadata, site performance, structured data) Maintain and update existing websites as needed. Primary focus will be on development-related tasks including WordPress customisations, theme development, and website implementation. Knowledge of web marketing is an advantage.
