In close collaboration with your Director or Senior Manager in MSP, you will manage individual contributors on the Cases Editorial team of Attorney Editors based in Manila. This team focuses on caselaw in the United States and Canada. The position is based in Manila with a hybrid-working model.
Responsibilities-
People Management
Coach individual contributors and facilitate direct communication between the team and the Director or Senior Manager. Model behaviors and Ways of Working that positively impact staff. Communicate team performance and goals aligned with team OKRs. Provide guidance and direction to keep the team focused on the most important priorities. Attract and develop talent and participate in interview and candidate selection with the Director or Senior Manager. Set goals around individual development and team diversity and inclusion, provide timely feedback and coaching, address under-performance, and resolve issues within the team. Learn, adapt, and encourage resilience.

Communication, Collaboration & Influence
Proactively communicate with the Director or Senior Manager to engage the new team within the Cases Editorial organization. Collaborate with the management group to share resources and ensure high-priority work is completed. May perform Editorial work to meet currency and quality expectations. Coach and encourage staff to support cross-functional needs and maintain open lines of communication about issues and best practices. Build relationships with managers outside the department and represent Thomson Reuters as a leader in events.

Commercial Acumen
Identify opportunities to improve business or processes. Understand Thomson Reuters content and products within the team's scope, and know customer needs and how customers use the products. Balance resources to meet product schedules and financial targets. Be curious about competitors, understand product lifecycles, and collaborate with product partners to deliver optimal results. Explain business priorities to the team and seek clarification when needed.

Lead through change initiatives with support from the Director or Senior Manager. Communicate savings plans and implement them. Demonstrate core behaviors: drive results, collaborate across boundaries, focus on customers, champion innovation, and seek opportunities to learn and develop others, serving as a role model.
- Have a Bachelor's Degree; a law degree is a plus.
- Understand legal research products and the needs of legal researchers.
- Are comfortable leading staff and collaborating with management and peers to address business needs.
- Are an analytical thinker and collaborative teammate who uses logic and discretion to collaborate with global teammates to solve difficult problems.
- Have some supervisory knowledge, skills & experience.
- Strong preference for content management, editing, and publishing experience.
- Are decisive with a focus on making quality decisions quickly.
- Are comfortable with personal computers and familiar with word processing and online applications including the Microsoft 365 suite of apps and Adobe apps.
- Can prioritize tasks and projects and pursue them with energy and drive.
- Are a strong, proactive, and assertive communicator who can speak and write clearly and effectively with contacts, both in and outside Thomson Reuters, across the globe.
- Can lead by influence and collaborate with Human Resources and the Director or Senior Manager to address employee concerns and performance issues.
- Can plan and direct work activities to meet product targets and customer specifications.
- Can utilize and leverage people, systems, processes, and resources to meet workflow requirements and optimize efficiency.
- Can adhere to budget with oversight and accountability for assigned products or functions.
