The Tax Advisor will assist the tax compliance and reporting drafting and filing obligations of the Business. Main Activities and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to). Tax Compliance and Regulatory Reporting Compile workpapers and support for indirect tax returns and authorisation memos for all tax payments. Assist with preparing income tax return workpaper files. Assist with preparing the monthly tax calculations, balance sheet reconciliations and tax reporting processes including completing any necessary reporting schedules, book to return true ups and associated tax journal entries. Perform monthly expense account reviews and liaise with key stakeholders regarding adjustments and coding. Perform monthly contractors review for payroll tax. Prepare monthly income tax instalment calculations. Business Support Assist the Senior Tax Advisor with assessing the impact of proposed legislation and interpretation changes of local WSP business operations. Monthly Reporting Assist with the preparation of the month end reporting cycles and timetables. Draft necessary accounting entries to general ledger, reconciliation, financial control and month end variance analysis and forecasting. Continuously seeking to improve and automate processes. Management Reporting and Decision Support Assist with the preparation of financial management information for use by management as required. Assist with preparing decision support analysis on financial matters or in monthly performance report. Other Assist with responding to ATO enquiries and ATO risk review and tax audits. Assist with tax and other finance related projects (e.g. GST reviews, transfer pricing documentation, M&A due diligence as required). Provide assistance to the Finance team. Qualifications (Minimum and desirable) CA or CA equivalent qualification or working towards this qualification. Minimum of 2 - 3 relevant years of professional experience in Tax Advisory. Experience in accounting and compliance activities in a corporate environment. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the AU tax regime. Good analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organisation and is a great team member; needs to be able to influence a wide cross-section of the Company.
