Purpose of the Position To provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team while actively contributing to the design and implementation of secure, scalable software solutions. The Lead Software Developer plays a key role in maintaining engineering standards, ensuring project delivery quality, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the team. Extent of Authority This position operates with a high degree of autonomy under broad direction from the CEO. It requires initiative, sound technical judgment, and the ability to provide leadership and guidance to other developers within the established strategic and architectural frameworks of Technologies. The position has no direct reports. Position Specific Accountabilities (KRA) Accountability Expected Outcome Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentoring to developers to maintain consistent coding standards and quality outcomes. Code Quality & Architecture: Ensure all development aligns with established architecture, coding standards, and security practices. Conduct peer reviews and provide feedback. Project Delivery: Lead development efforts to ensure deliverables meet functional, performance, and security requirements within agreed timeframes. Security Focused: Maintain full compliance with the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL). Champion security awareness and best practices within the team. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to processes, tooling, and technology stacks to enhance team productivity and software quality. Specific Duties Include: Lead and mentor software developers to enhance their technical capability and confidence. Act as a senior technical resource on major development projects. Review code and architecture for performance, maintainability, and security. Collaborate closely with the Business Unit Manager and Product Owners on solution design and technical planning. Contribute to strategic technical decisions including platform, tooling, and process evolution. Ensure adherence to secure coding principles, version control standards, and CI/CD practices. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and practices relevant to products. Provide technical input to proposals, design documents, and release plans. Participate in incident investigations and post-mortems to improve future reliability. Support the development team in resolving complex technical challenges.
