Overview System Administrator II (Technology Services Engineer II) – Pax8, Makati, National Capital Region, Philippines. Responsibilities Troubleshoot Technical Issues: diagnose and resolve technical issues by adhering to established Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Escalate appropriately based on severity and impact, following a tiered support model to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical systems, including audit requests, access requests, security assessments, and pre-empt potential vulnerabilities. Contribute to Project Work: plan, test, and implement changes across Technology Services-supported systems. Ensure adherence to required delivery methodologies, participate in blameless postmortem analyses, and provide necessary training. Activities may include design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems and processes to support business transformation projects, aligning with evolving business requirements. Optimize Tier 3 software systems for peak performance, efficiency and integration with existing systems. Implement security measures and compliance standards in line with industry standards. Participate in project management ceremonies, ensuring effective communication and progress tracking. Support Maintenance and Resolution: ensure continuity and availability of systems by managing backups, application installation and deployment, system patching, monitoring and alerting, access control frameworks, and task automation. Proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain optimal system performance. Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades of hardware/software and participate in blameless post mortem, root cause investigations, and problem creation for agile resolutions. On-Queue: address critical issues and emergencies, ensuring prompt resolution to maintain system continuity and customer satisfaction. Apply judgment to determine importance and urgency; ensure availability for planned events, triage and manage daily/weekly incidents. Incident management may occur beyond standard hours. Identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Contribute to Knowledge Base: contribute to and author knowledge-based articles in designated software, automation scripts, asset cataloguing, tracking and inventory management to support team learning. Regularly update comprehensive documentation for Technology Services, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Personal Development: drive personal development through learning paths on Elev8 and Pax8 L&D, peer or manager coaching, stretch projects, or on-the-job training. Develop skills of others on the team as appropriate. Ideal Skills and Experience Experience in Technical Engineering and Administration. Experience with Azure Modern Workplace technologies, including AzureAD, InTune, SSO & Enterprise Apps, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with cloud technologies and infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in deploying moderate solutions. Understanding of system automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or CloudFormation). Ability to work as part of a team on project work. Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies; experience with Jira, MS DevOps, MS Project, ServiceNow, Trello, or Asana. Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills across all levels. Knowledge of security best practices and tools for cloud-based systems.
