Senior Regulatory Counsel Mastercard’s Real Time Payments (RTP) Team is looking for a Senior Counsel to support the RTP International business. Overview The RTP business designs, builds, and operates industry‑leading bank account‑based payment systems across multiple economies including the U.S., Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Peru, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. Key Aspects of the Role Anticipate the evolution of applicable regulatory frameworks relevant to the RTP International business and monitor regulatory change. Partner with RTP business stakeholders and Mastercard Regulatory and Compliance colleagues to respond to supervisory expectations and draft consultative responses. Provide incisive, business‑friendly explanations and advice to senior management. Communicate effectively to all levels of senior management through updates and clear, concise presentations. Coordinate with regional Mastercard Regulatory colleagues to understand the evolution of international regulation that may affect the RTP International business. Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of laws and regulatory themes relating to payments infrastructure, as well as broader banking and financial services. Advocate for the RTP business through the drafting of submissions and talking points to protect business interests and enhance the Mastercard brand. Manage outside counsel on relevant regulatory matters. All About You Well‑rounded, works independently, and is not afraid to “roll their sleeves up and get stuck in”. Track record of success in legal practice in regulation, technology, finance, corporate, and commercial. Experience in the Payments sector is an advantage. Admitted as a practicing lawyer with a valid practising certificate from your legal association and a minimum of five years post‑admission experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a time‑sensitive, results‑driven approach to work.
