Job Title: Procurement Staff (Construction) Department: Procurement / Supply Chain Reports to: Procurement Officer / Procurement Manager Job Summary: The Procurement Staff (Construction) is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the timely delivery of construction materials, equipment, and services. The role ensures that all materials meet project specifications, are cost-effective, and are delivered on schedule to support ongoing site operations. Key Responsibilities: Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors for construction materials, tools, and services. Prepare and process purchase requests, quotations, and purchase orders in line with project requirements. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure cost efficiency and quality compliance. Coordinate closely with project engineers, site supervisors, and warehouse staff regarding material specifications and delivery timelines. Monitor and track inventory levels, ensuring the availability of critical materials for ongoing and upcoming projects. Conduct supplier accreditation and maintain an updated database of approved suppliers and service providers. Verify material quality and compliance with approved standards and specifications before acceptance. Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies, approval limits, and documentation standards. Follow up on order status, resolve delivery issues, and manage supplier performance. Prepare and submit regular procurement and cost reports to management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. At least 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the construction industry . Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment. Strong negotiation, communication, and coordination skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or inventory systems is an advantage.
