Overview

POSITION: SENIOR DESIGN MANAGER - LEAD ARCHITECT (COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Development : Communicates management goals, evaluates team performance, and provides coaching and mentoring to Design Managers within the region.
  • Design Review & Compliance : Ensures all plans, drawings, and documents meet SM standards and regulatory requirements, including those for approvals, meetings, budgeting, and implementation.
  • Consultant Coordination : Oversees consultant submissions, fee proposals, and ensures technical specifications align with SM and national/international standards.
  • Procurement & Budgeting : Reviews quotations, bids, and OSM estimates for accuracy and compliance; secures management approvals and monitors cost control.
  • Project Monitoring & Site Inspections : Tracks project timelines, budgets, and implementation quality; conducts site inspections and ensures adherence to approved designs.
  • Billing & Documentation : Assesses supplier billings, ensures proper documentation, and manages project close-out and filing across all branches.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Issue Resolution : Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, attends meetings, resolves project issues, and cascades design updates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Professional license or certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple design and construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge in design planning, value engineering, and building technologies.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software; familiar with SM Drafting Standards.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and mentoring Design Managers.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled in reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and site implementation.
  • Ensures proper documentation, billing processes, and project close-out procedures.
  • Ability to align design initiatives with corporate goals.
  • Willing to work ONSITE at MOA COMPLEX, PASAY CITY
