Job Purpose

The Insurance Verification Representative is responsible for obtaining and providing accurate and complete data input for insurance verifications in clients' host systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Utilize payer web portals to obtain patients' current insurance information and update the information in the client system.
  2. Verify insurance information against patient’s insurance cards scanned in the client system and ensure the correct and most up-to-date information is on the patient’s account.
  3. Follow procedures on filing the claims after updates are entered in the client system.
  4. Comment all actions taken in internal and client host systems.
  5. Work independently from assigned work queues.
  6. Meet and maintain daily productivity and quality standards as established in departmental policies.
  7. Adhere to the policies and procedures established for the client/team.
  8. Communicate effectively with leadership.
  9. Maintain a professional attitude.
  10. Other duties as assigned by the management team.
  11. Use, protect, and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of the insurance verification process.
  • Experience with practice management software such as GE Centricity, EPIC PB, Cerner, Allscripts preferred.
  • Knowledge of individual payor websites, including eviCore, Navinet, and Novitasphere.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and task prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, with basic Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Working Conditions
  • Work Setup: Onsite
  • Work Schedule: Night shift, US hours
Physical and Mental Demands

Occasionally required to move around the work area, sit, perform manual tasks, operate tools and office equipment, extend arms, kneel, talk, and hear. Must be able to follow directions, collaborate, and handle stress.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
