HSBC Quezon City, National Capital Region, Philippines Job Overview Assistant Manager - Accounting Control – HSBC HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, operating in 62 countries. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead accounting control activities within the Global Markets business. Job Responsibilities Act as an individual contributor delivering daily business controls (Reconciliation and Manual Journals) for the Global Markets business. Ensure service delivery of Accounting Control – Operations processes per agreed SLAs within the HSBC Global Resourcing operating framework. Assist with production of reconciliations, investigation & root‑cause analysis of breaks, including required accounting adjustments. Produce accurate and timely management information in conjunction with in‑country/nearshore teams. Respond promptly to query deliverables and engage actively with business stakeholders. Provide assistance to the manager in day‑to‑day and periodic reporting, and cover leave and off‑days for other team members. Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in strategic and tactical change projects. Support project management with governance inputs and perform impact assessments of proposed changes on processes, data, and systems. Plan and schedule project activities to ensure timely completion of milestones. Manage stakeholder relationships with in‑country teams, near‑shore teams, and IT teams. Collaborate and mentor new team members as requested by the manager. Adhere to all HSBC policies, procedures, and internal control processes to maintain data integrity and information security. Job Requirements Chartered Accountant (1+ years of experience or newly qualified) or ICWA (1+ years of experience or newly qualified) or MBA/Master’s degree in a Finance‑related subject (1+ years of experience or newly qualified). Graduation degree in Commerce or related subjects preferred. Relevant experience in a global bank or a similarly sized organization. Experience in complex reconciliations across multiple systems and platforms. Preferably experience with reconciliation of traded financial instruments and products such as foreign exchange, fixed income, and equities. Strong IT skills, especially MS Excel and MS Access. Strong time‑management skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills for regular interaction with regional HSBC teams. Preferred Skills Experience migrating processes, including remote migration. Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band.
