Manage the delivery, design and integration and delivery of Shared Applications, specifically in the Core Life domain
Planning and Budgeting

  • Acquire new knowledge and skills to drive continuous improvement in respective areas and day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor the project costs against the budget to ensure value achievement.
Incident Management
  • Assist with the resolution of incidents to ensure successful resolution.
Customer Contract Management
  • Assist in customer contracts development to ensure application contents are correct and relevant.
Solution Architecture
  • Contribute to the solution architect's proposed Solution Architecture to ensure the architecture meets demand of the applications.
Solutions Delivery (including system development)
  • Coordinate with Release Management in order to plan service introduction and execute transition of the Project Enhancement to Production.
  • Manage and engage the vendors to build, integrate and deliver Shared Application solutions to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Manage a group of application specialists and consultants to perform application analysis and design to ensure quality assurance activities of all IT projects assigned.
  • Review and approve relevant design documents and system integration for IT solutions involving applications from different platforms to ensure end-to-end system integration across platforms.
  • Challenge and approve solution options and estimation, drive the vendor selection process and propose vendor for senior management's approval to ensure the best selection of vendors.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure application solution meet AXA’s policies, standards and quality requirement.
Delivery Process Management
  • Provide approval on process compliance documents to ensure they meet governance and compliance standards.
  • Support improvement on the Delivery Process in order to achieve delivery excellence.
Risk Management and Business Contingency
  • Support and provide inputs in order to develop and implement a risk-mitigation action plan based on the project risk assessment.
  • Support periodic tests to the risk mitigation and business contingency solutions to ensure system readiness and prevent issues during incidents/crises.
Systems Integration
  • Lead the integration of solutions provided by vendors to ensure the successful transition within OneIT.
Applications Management
Own and maintain the application domain knowledge of a group of applications, drive the team to maintain awareness of technology trends to ensure the delivery of best practices and deepening specialization in their responsible application domain area.
Project Management
  • Actively monitor throughout the project delivery life cycle in order to manage the scope, schedule, and cost for IT projects.
People Management
  • Develop the team of Application Specialists to ensure knowledge retention for key platforms via proper resource planning and backup.
  • Drive capability development of the Application Specialist team in order to build specialization in their responsible application domain area.
Vendor Management
  • Facilitate discussions and help vendors understand OneIT business requirements in order to improve vendor performance.
  • Review and approve solution delivery deliverables to ensure quality assurance.
  • Oversee the delivery of trainings and knowledge transfer to the Production teams to ensure necessary knowledge is transferred.
  • Manage vendor resources in ensuring a right mix of external vendors to support multiple IT projects running in parallel, in order to achieve utilization goals and on / offshore work ratio targets.
  • Actively monitor in order to manage work transition and delivery with Delivery Centre / vendors.
  • Define, monitor and track overall vendor and project performance against SLA and KPIs to ensure value achievement.
  • Communicate confirmed scope and schedule change of medium to larger scale IT projects with Delivery Centre / vendors to ensure timely project updates.
  • University degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in IT solution delivery with at least 5 years in managerial role, preferably in insurance & financial services field.
  • Experience in managing teams of delivery professionals to ensure applications are delivered with high quality, within budget, and according to project schedule.
  • Ability to manage large project portfolio and previous experience in managing multiple medium to large-scale projects running in parallel.
  • Solid experience of managing delivery resources from multiple teams, onshore and offshore, in-house and vendor.
  • Strong solution delivery management skills and experience, and a proven track record of developing, implementing and maintaining systems.
  • Strong people management, resources management and vendor management skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
  • Working experience in Asia countries, with understandings of the country characteristics, cultures and work style, is an advantage.
  • Experience in various domains of Insurance solution delivery (for example, distribution systems, business intelligence, CRM, printing solution, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience in managing solution delivery through outsourcing arrangement and offshore development centre.
  • In-depth system development experience, preferably in AS400 RPGILE with collaboration with other technology domains in Life insurance industry.
