Accounts Officer We’re looking to hire an Accounts Officer who can provide day-to-day support to our stakeholders and account representatives and ensure smooth accounting procedures. Candidates applying for the role should be highly organized and must perform multiple tasks for different teams/clients simultaneously. The candidate should drive growth to our company by being an essential part of the Account Management team. Responsibilities Execute all accounting transactions of the assigned vessels, including invoices, expenses, payments, payroll, etc., and update all respective accounting ledgers to assist in monitoring each vessel’s financial operation and compliance with accounting rules and legislation. Proceed to the prompt settlement of all accounts/payments of related vessels to support smooth vessel operations. Produce and, upon approval, submit periodical financial reports of assigned vessels to ship owners; review vessel actual costs against budgets and inform relevant supervisors of budget variances. Issue invoices for each client according to contractual agreements; submit to clients upon supervisor approval and monitor timely payment, reporting any potential discrepancies. Gather and provide information concerning the company’s and vessels’ financial status for management reporting and decision‑making. Proceed all accounting entries and develop analytical monthly accounting reports per BSM requirements to provide management with necessary information. Coordinate with GSC to ensure outsourced accounting activities are performed timely and accurately. Reconcile accounting transactions (or review reconciliations produced by GSC) and maintain all accounting records and subordinate ledgers of SMC in accordance with BSM policies. Update all management accounting systems to provide prompt information concerning costs and financial data for performance control. Keep abreast of changes in accounting legislation and review the operation of the department, proposing and implementing improvements in policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance workflow and compliance. Keep up to date with changes and revisions in Ship Management Agreements, crew wage scales, and tariff of contracted agents to support compliance monitoring of billing and payment activities. Assist in internal and external audits by gathering and providing all required information and data as directed by supervisor. Requirements University graduate in Accountancy, Finance Management, Management Accounting, or related. 1–2 years of experience in accounting. Excellent computer skills (MS Office in particular). Organizational and time‑management skills. Good communication skills with a problem‑solving attitude. Can start ASAP and amenable to work onsite at BSM House, Quirino Malate Manila.
