About the Role Assist in evaluating financial information and assessing risk to make sound decisions on loan approvals for unsecured consumer credit applications in a regulated environment. This role is ideal for an analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys complex decision-making, and is committed to maintaining compliance and quality standards across all aspects of credit underwriting. Key Responsibilities Assess credit applications within delegated underwriting authority, ensuring alignment with company policies and the broader commercial risk environment. Manage all aspects of the credit underwriting process, including: Verifying application data Analysing credit reports Conducting property and background searches Provide sound, high-quality recommendations to management on complex deals. Assess and review customer applications for creditworthiness and potential fraud risk. Ensure all applications comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Oversee daily credit analysis workflow to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Act as a key point of escalation between the sales and applications teams. Drive process efficiency and accuracy through automation initiatives and assist in drafting risk policies. Support the Senior Manager, Credit & Lending Operations, with projects and ad hoc matters. Work effectively both autonomously and within a collaborative team environment. Share knowledge and provide coaching to colleagues in both Sydney and Manila. About You – Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience in credit assessment within the financial services industry. Lending delegation experience is highly regarded. Exposure to all stages of the credit approval process, including direct customer engagement. Strong analytical mindset and confident decision-making skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities with a focus on continuous process enhancement. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders. Solid understanding of operating within a regulated financial environment. Highly organised and adept at managing competing priorities.
