Role description This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and the Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally. Qualifications & Experience Post-Graduation in Civil/Structure Engineering A candidate with 2-3 years of relevant experience in the design of highway and rail bridges and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, civil works and utility structures. Role accountabilities Demonstrates the ability to work independently and manage minor projects involving standard structural designs for highways, railways, and related civil or utility works. Collaborates with project leads and reviewers on complex or major projects, actively seeking feedback and delivering value-added solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Involves all stages of Civil designs for D&B projects, from conceptualisation and optioneering through detail engineering to construction-stage support, covering the full delivery lifecycle. Guides junior team members to ensure safe design and resolves straightforward design issues. Ensures quality by verifying design submittals prepared by team members and collaborating with senior staff to deliver acceptable outcomes in accordance with project requirements. Prepares design reports, checks drawings, computes quantities and reinforcement schedules, etc. Supports the project lead or independently manages programme timelines, budgets, and health & safety requirements across projects as needed. Develops effective working relationships with other disciplines and senior colleagues in GEC, USA, and other regions if necessary. Required Specific Competencies Confident in working independently, with strong influencing, motivating, and delegating skills; possesses excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Fair knowledge of US (AASHTO/ACI), LRFD, DMRB, British and Euro Codes and design standards and delivery processes of the ANA region. Knowledge of more than one DOT in the USA is preferred. Experience in design of prestressed and steel composite bridges, covering vehicular, pedestrian, and utility bridges. Conceptualizing and designing highway, railway, civil, and utility structures using available digital tools and validating results by applying basic engineering principles. Skilled in performing design checks as part of an independent check/review team, coordinating and driving resolution of interdisciplinary issues. Good experience in design delivery of international projects for the United States, Middle East, UK and other developed countries. Knowledge of MIDAS Civil, STAAD Pro, SAM LEAP, AutoCAD, Leap Concrete, Leap Steel, MathCad, MicroStation, FDOT, GDOT. Design standard tools, HEC-RAS, Hydrology tools and Proconcrete; capable of using BIM processes and common data environments; working knowledge of Revit, MicroStation, ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
