Your impact: We are looking for a Mechanical – HVAC Designer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects at some of the world’s most state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities. You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll also provide on‑site assistance during startup, coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi‑discipline, highly interactive team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for building HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Here’s what you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. At least 9 years of practical application of mechanical engineering design in building systems such as HVAC, fire protection, plumbing and their construction. Working knowledge of Revit, SP3D and AutoCAD. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas. Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base. Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi‑disciplinary teams from preliminary design through site construction. Has successfully acted as design engineer in all areas of discipline. Ideally, you have Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks software. 7–10 years of building mechanical design and construction experience. Industrial design experience including high‑tech manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, or similar. Responsibilities Carry out designs of mechanical building services. Work with and assist other senior mechanical & electrical engineers together with other members of a multi‑discipline design team. Liaise with clients and other design disciplines. Produce briefs, specifications, design drawings, survey work. Write technical reports and produce detailed calculations. Perform work with little to no supervision, review work of discipline team for adequacy on completion. General Tasks Performed Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of advanced engineering techniques, procedures, analyses, and criteria for problems and methods. Perform a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phase of equipment, systems, or processes. Establish design criteria in accordance with industry standards. Write scopes of work, estimate time and effort required to perform work, predict staffing needs, complete staffing matrices, plan the execution of the project from kickoff through construction, complete equipment matrices, drawing list(s), etc. Prepare specifications and provide input to define necessary subcontracts and requisitions. Report to project manager at the project level. Report to discipline coordinator and discipline manager at the discipline level.
