Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems such as HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and other building utilities in retail stores and mall locations.
  • Ensure compliance with national/local building codes, mall administration requirements, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely and quality execution of projects and maintenance works.
  • Liaise with mall administrators regarding permits, approvals, and adherence to mall operational guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure efficient store operations.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Prepare and submit reports, documentation, and progress updates to management and mall administration.
  • Support store construction, renovation, and fit-out projects by providing technical expertise and ensuring mechanical works are aligned with project timelines.
  • Monitor project budgets and costs for mechanical works, ensuring resource efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement system upgrades, energy-saving solutions, and improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PRC).
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in mechanical works, preferably in the retail, commercial, or mall industry.
  • Strong background in HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and other building mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and mall administrators.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and mall-specific requirements.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, plans, and technical documents.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills when dealing with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD or similar).
  • Willing to travel or be assigned to different store/mall locations as needed.
