Overview

Power Supply Design Engineer role at Power Integrations

Responsibilities
  • Researches and defines switching mode power supply topologies based on the specialties of the company’s products
  • Helps develop algorithms to automatically optimize power supplies using PI’s products and assist in developing the PI Expert Software Suite
  • Assists in new product development and researches new applications for both new and older generations of Power Integrations’ IC products
  • Designs and develops switching power supply units (PSU) using the company’s products for design documentation/training material or customer requirements
  • Evaluates switching power supplies built with the company’s products
  • Provides switching power supply design support and technical advice to the company’s customers worldwide
  • Researches and writes technical application materials for publication and for presentation at technical conferences, industry seminars, trade magazines and data books
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 2 years of experience as Power Supply Design Engineer or design experience in areas such as power converters/conversion/management, switching/switch mode power supply units (PSU), inverters, power electronics design equipment, analog electronics design, control loop design and power magnetics design (transformer, chokes or inductors)
  • Experience designing power electronic circuitry for industrial electronic equipment or consumer devices is desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communications with experience in specification creation, technical report writing and test plans/instructions
