Attorney Editor Lead - Practical Law Editorial:

Practical Law Attorney Editors are responsible for legal research, analysis, and writing to support the maintenance of Practical Law content. Members of this team will work collaboratively with Practical Law colleagues globally to ensure our customers have access to the most accurate, current, and comprehensive Practical Law content. Attorney Editors must have sound editorial judgment, as they play a key role in ensuring the quality of our Editorial content. The Attorney Editor Lead acts as a subject matter expert and on-site coordinator for a team of Attorney Editors in addition to their editorial responsibilities.

About the Role - Key responsibilities include:

  • Team Oversight: The Attorney Editor Lead is a senior member of the team of Attorney Editors, overseeing work assignments and training processes for the team, acting as a senior colleague responding to team questions, and generally ensuring that the team is appropriately integrated with and supported by TR resources at the Manila location.
  • Legal Research, Analysis, Editing, and Writing: Attorney Editors review existing Practical Law content to ensure it is accurate and reflects recent developments. Attorney Editors must be able to identify key legal issues in editorial materials while demonstrating competence in Westlaw and on-line research tools.
  • Editorial Responsibility: Members of this team must adhere to editorial publishing schedules and quality standards. They will verify their own work and that of other staff as required for accuracy and completeness, and they will ensure that the information is properly presented and organized. Attorney Editors must maintain and develop legal knowledge and skills training as needed to complete their work and stay current on legal trends and developments related to editorial responsibilities.
  • Individual and Leadership Development: As a part of a larger team, Attorney Editors must participate in meetings and take part in the employee evaluation process (including self-evaluation and giving and receiving feedback). To be effective, Attorney Editors must develop knowledge of Practical Law and Thomson Reuters products, and those of competitors.
  • Self-direction: Attorney Editors must prioritize their own work and understand the roles and responsibilities of each team member and how each role impacts production. Attorney Editors are required to demonstrate expertise in company-specific systems necessary to perform job functions.
  • Engagement with Editorial AI Efforts: Attorney Editors will be involved in AI and LLM development, including experimentation, prompting, and evaluating results.
