Job Description

Address tax issues and handle tax compliance (local and national taxes); manage BIR, LGU and Customs audits and permit requirements; lead special projects, and support administrative and MS governance.

Responsibilities
  • The Real Property Tax (RPT) and Local Business Tax (LBT) functions will mainly include:
    • Review, strategize and prepare annual RPT payments, and verify deficiency RPT assessments
    • Preparation of computations/reports on local tax issues
    • Coordinating with local government officials on needed documents/data, and advocating the Company's tax position
    • Maintaining monitoring/database of RPT payments and status per local government unit
    • Local Business Tax preparation, planning, filing, payment and advocacy of Company's position
  • MS Governance: liaising between the MS team and the different departments, and monitoring and reviewing the progress of the team.
  • Administrative Functions: Tax representations for different undertakings; development of plans/initiatives to improve local tax processes (digital or manual), such as data cleanup of property registration files.
  • Tax Advisory and Special Projects: Assisting in tax impact assessment and structuring for corporate reorganizations and strategies; assistance in tax planning initiatives (e.g., contract drafting for sales and purchases, business dealings, and commercial agreements); CAR processing; conducting tax due diligence; taxation advisory; assistance in BIR, LGU and customs audits; tax returns preparation and review.
