
Tax Manager

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing all tax-related matters for the company's operations in the Philippines. This includes ensuring full compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regulations, handling tax filings and audits, developing local tax strategies, and ensuring accurate reporting of taxes in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS). The role requires strong expertise in local tax laws and effective coordination with internal teams and external auditors.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all BIR-required tax returns (e.g., VAT, EWT, CWT, ITR, Fringe Benefit Tax, etc.).
Prepare and file local government tax returns such as Business Permit and Real Property Tax.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance for tax incentives
Manage the monthly and annual tax reconciliation and reporting process.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Monitor and interpret updates to local tax laws (e.g., CREATE Law, BIR rulings, revenue regulations).
- Provide strategic advice on tax implications of new business activities, expansions, and investments.
- Optimize tax positions by utilizing available fiscal incentives Evaluate and recommend tax-efficient corporate structures and transactions.
BIR Audit and Assessment Handling
- Lead the preparation and submission of documents for BIR Letter of Authority (LOA) and audit examinations.
- Respond to BIR audit queries, preliminary assessment notices (PANs), final assessment notices (FANs), and formal letters of demand (FLDs).
- Coordinate with legal counsel and external tax consultants as needed.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trail to support tax positions.
Internal Controls and Risk Management
- Establish and enforce tax-related policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks through internal reviews and controls.
- Maintain tax records and supporting schedules for audit and reporting purposes.Liaise with external tax consultants and government agencies (BIR, LGUs, PEZA, SEC).
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Supervise tax analysts or accountants, including task allocation, review of work, and performance evaluation.
- Train and develop team members on changes in tax regulations and best practices.
- Work closely with finance, legal, procurement, and operations departments to ensure tax compliance in all business processes.
External Liaison and Representation
- Represent the company in meetings with BIR officers, LGU assessors, and tax consultants.
- Prepare documentation for SEC, PEZA, BOI, or other government agency submissions as needed.
- Coordinate with external auditors on tax-related concerns during statutory audits.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php80, Php100,000.00 per month
