Overview

Senior Accountant with extensive US non-profit accounting experience. Remote, part-time position with responsibilities spanning financial reporting, close processes, audits, and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements
  • Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual close responsibilities and ensures team members stay on track during close
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure optimum process and efficiency
  • Ensure deadlines and controls are met in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Manage proper deliverables to external auditors on annual audits and quarterly reviews
  • Lead internal audit engagements
  • Complete external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors
  • Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups
  • Protect the organization’s financial information
  • Assist with month-end close and other projects as needed
  • Interact with various levels of management and peers
  • Plan, schedule, and organize work independently with minimum supervision to complete tasks within designated timelines
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and more than seven years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area
  • Extensive experience in US non-profit accounting including reporting and compliance (tax)
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Certified Public Accountant is a plus
  • Experience in a Big 4 firm is a plus
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Experience developing financial reports and metrics
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining the big picture
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Work shift starts at 1:00 PM PST

  • Computer Processor: Intel 8th generation or newer/AMD Ryzen 2000 series or newer
  • Computer Memory/RAM: At least 16.00 GB for both primary and back-up computers
  • Computer OS: Windows 11 and future enterprise operating systems
  • Storage: 500 GB SSD
  • With licensed MS Office and extra monitor
  • Internet speed must be 20+ Mbps wired (at least 10 Mbps for back-up connection)
