Role Overview

An exciting opportunity for a motivated candidate to join an experienced team charged with the implementation and support of Trading Systems from a Level 2 Support perspective. This is a high-profile business facing role that works with the core technologies that make TP ICAP the leader in the electronic trading business. You will be joining a highly adaptable and self-motivated team of employees, implementing and supporting our Trading Applications. The rewards of your hard work, initiative and innovation will be internal and interdepartmental growth opportunities. The candidate will focus on day-to-day support and implementation of TP/ICAP trading systems, documentation and creation of new tools, while maintaining and developing internal customer relationships. The candidate will take system design direction from senior engineers and senior development staff.

Role Responsibilities
  • Monitors and oversees all trading application functionality and the performance of the system environment.
  • Acts as second level support that troubleshoots incidents and requests escalated by the business.
  • Handles installation requests from QA and Development groups, including bug fixes, upgrades and enhancements of trading applications in accordance with baselines, policies and procedures.
  • Builds the trading application with all required third party tools and applications in staging and production environments.
  • Writes scripts using Shell, Perl, PowerShell and SQL to automate installation, monitoring and data collection for health checks.
  • Creates runbooks and documentation describing application setup and procedures (Remedies to Known Application Problems and Troubleshooting Steps).
  • Attends meetings and conference calls discussing production issues, scheduled changes or upcoming projects.
  • Manages and performs changes through the Change lifecycle, submits change control forms, and follows up until completion.
  • Acts as senior analyst within the team, serving as internal escalation for junior members and handling major projects; acts as Deputy to the Regional Team Lead.
  • Manages ticket queues, delegates to team members, and ensures accurate shift handovers.
  • During shifts when the Team Lead is unavailable, undertakes responsibilities for running the team, manages shift schedules, approves requests and changes in ServiceNow, and attends to urgent management and regulatory matters.
Experience / Competences

Essential

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus documentation skills; experience deploying software and writing functional procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders, peers, subordinates and customers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; effective verbal and written communication.
  • Understanding of customer demand and technology innovation to meet client requirements.
  • Ability to work with multiple Lines of Business and geographies; proven internal customer support.
  • Windows Server operating systems; Unix/Linux – power user level.
  • SQL (T-SQL, SQL Server Management).
  • Working knowledge of networking tools (ssh, sftp, traceroute).
  • Shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Perl).

Desired

  • Experience in a tech lead role is advantageous.
  • Experience in the Financial/Banking sector is a plus.
  • Automation tools (Ansible, TFS, Jenkins).
  • Some experience with SQL and databases.
  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems (JIRA, ServiceNow).
  • IIS / web services / encryption certification.
  • ITIL certification is a plus but not required.
