The Product Officer plays a key role in supporting the development, launch, and management of food products ensuring they meet consumer needs, comply with regulatory standards, and achieve business targets. This role bridges marketing, production, R&D, and supply chain teams to drive product performance from concept to market. Key Responsibilities Assist in conceptualizing and developing new food products or product improvements based on market trends, customer feedback, and business goals. Coordinate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to ensure product formulations, packaging, and labeling meet company and regulatory standards. Participate in product trials, sensory evaluations, and packaging tests to ensure product quality and consistency. Help prepare cost analysis, product specifications, and feasibility studies for new and existing products. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive products, and consumer preferences. Gather and analyze data to support product positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities. Monitor competitor launches and activities to identify potential opportunities or threats. Assist in planning and executing product launch activities and trade promotions. Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to ensure timely availability of promotional materials and product information. Prepare product briefs, presentations, and technical sheets for internal and external stakeholders. Support digital and on-ground marketing campaigns to drive awareness and sales performance. Track product sales performance, inventory levels, and profitability against targets. Collect and analyze feedback from customers, distributors, and sales teams to improve product performance. Recommend product adjustments, phase-outs, or re-launches based on market and operational insights. Ensure all products comply with food safety, labeling, and regulatory requirements. Liaise with supply chain, procurement, and production to align product availability with market demand. Maintain accurate documentation and product information for audits and quality checks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. At least 2–4 years of experience in product management, marketing, or R&D within the food manufacturing industry. Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills. Knowledge of FDA regulations, food labeling standards, and product costing is an advantage.
