The Paralegal - Legal & Compliance is responsible for coordinating all corporate housekeeping activities and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, rules and regulations related to corporate housekeeping. The position involves collating documents from various internal stakeholders, submitting corporate documents for ARI Corp and ARI BUs, and monitoring deadlines for compliance. The role also includes legal research, safekeeping of corporate documents, drafting of legal agreements, and other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader. The role contributes to the implementation of legal strategies and the smooth operation of the Legal and Compliance Team of SRRL.

Responsibilities
  • Provides comprehensive and thorough research on legal, regulatory and compliance issues, including energy, labor, safety, health and environment, regulatory, permitting, land, contracts
  • Assists in due diligence on land and other legal matters as needed
  • Assists in coordination with external counsel for legal and compliance issues
  • Implements strategies on compliance monitoring and audit to ensure permits/contracts/agreements/compliance issues are properly tracked and timely complied with for all ARI BUs
  • Drafts contracts, legal opinions, agreements and other documents for review by Team Leaders
  • Stays current on industry and government compliance programs related to renewable energy and provides updates on changes in legislation and regulations
  • Attends public consultations with external stakeholders to represent ARI interests as required
  • Facilitates timely completion of compliance matters by coordinating with internal teams for submissions
  • Ensures regular coordination of legal and compliance issues with identified stakeholders
  • Ensures proper filing of legal documents, compliances and permits under Team Leader guidance
  • Regularly reports progress of all legal and compliance issues to Team Leaders
  • Coordinates with other internal departments for information or assistance required for timely submission of all legal and compliance requirements
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader

Minimum Qualifications
  • Preferably a graduate of Bachelor’s Degree related to Law or Legal Management, or any related four-year course
  • 1–3 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in other law-related work
  • Exposure to government agencies, particularly in the energy sector (e.g., NCIP, DENR, LGUs, DOE, ERC, NGCP) is an advantage
  • Background in legal research or prior experience in a law firm is preferred
  • 1 vacant position available in Makati
