Job Description:Manager, Global Change Initiatives / Description du poste (titre)
The increasingly active and complex cyber threat environment that Sun Life operates in is driving significant scrutiny and regulatory emphasis on the role of Second Line of Defence (2LoD) and the need for Technology & Cyber control monitoring expertise. Specifically, OSFI and other global regulators expect 2LoD to provide effective, near-real-time challenge by actively monitoring process and control effectiveness.
Sun Life is enhancing our resources by increasing key roles to ensure sufficient domain expertise and capacity to deliver strategic change driven by new and revised regulatory expectations, increasing threats and risks, and the growth of the Technology & Cyber Risk Management 2LOD team. This role will be delivering a multi-year change program to enable data-driven challenge across all Business Groups. Additionally, it will be pivotal in executing other initiatives such as our Risk Analytics program (risk lake), Tech & Cyber 2LOD maturity program, and Cyber risk training programs.
Working with the AVP, Technology Governance & Change Initiatives, this role will help deliver our strategic change agenda and define and implement these changes across multiple Technology and Business areas. Due to the increasing active and complex threat environment, a Center of Excellence (CoE) is being established in Manila, Philippines, where this role will be based.
Preferred Skills (Assets) / Compétences particulières (titre)- Experience in Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, Jira) with relevant certifications (Scrum Master, Green Belt, TOGAF, BABOK) is an asset.
- Deep understanding and experience in managing and implementing strategic change initiatives.
- Lean process design / mapping skills.
- Effective presentation, communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
- Strong relationship management skills, with ability to gain and maintain credibility with stakeholders.
- Collaborative team player.
- University degree and professional designation with over 7 years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/Jira).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, including administration.
- Ability to engage effectively with global executives and senior leaders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, team-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to relate well to team members, peers, senior leaders, and clients.
- Results and quality-focused with multitasking ability.
- Hands-on with detailed work within a strategic context.
- Ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and communicate complex terminology and requirements clearly to ensure understanding, quality results, and adoption.
This role will assist in regulatory change workstreams, strategic resolution of deficiencies, Internal Audit, Management, and Regulatory issues. Key focus areas include:
- Ensuring enterprise-wide compliance with new and revised regulatory expectations related to Technology, Cyber Security, and Information Management.
- Leading strategic change programs to replace legacy tools and ensure compatibility.
- Managing operational processes and procedures to support Business Group Chief Risk Officer responsibilities.
- Developing and managing an annual planning process to enhance transparency and strategic challenge across TCRM.
- Participating in the development of TCRM’s risk analytics capabilities, including understanding new technologies and threat landscapes.
This role will initially focus on providing the DBTS 2LOD function for reviewing TPRM submissions from the 1LOD, expected to be phased out by the end of 2025.
