Job Description:

• Partakes in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of different guidance activities
• Conducts guidance orientation for students and parents
• Schedules and conducts individual or group counseling sessions
• Administers, scores, interprets tests and discusses results to students
• Gathers data for the individual inventory of students and maintains cumulative records
• Conducts evaluation of guidance activities and needs assessment of students as bases for guidance activities
• Consults activities with appropriate authorities to ensure the proper coordination of the programs and activities with other agencies in the school
• Collects and disseminates information to all concerned individuals
• Writes and submits guidance-related reports and maintains records with confidentiality
• Places students in appropriate academic, social and occupational programs and settings
• Conducts research and evaluation to determine effectiveness of strategies and services implemented
• Refers clients to more qualified experts
• Facilitates enrichment/training programs for students and parents
• Conducts meetings and follow-ups with students, parents and teachers on important concerns
• Participates actively in professional organizations and attends seminars and othe related programs and activities for professional advancement
• Does other tasks deemed necessary as directed by the department head

Department: Guidance and Counseling Unit

Education: Graduate of BS Psychology/ MAED Guidance and Counseling or its equivalent

Experience: At least one year of related experience

Eligibility: Registered Guidance Counselor (RGC)

• Empathic

Added to the Three-Year Curriculum in the school year that followed were Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology or Machine Shop, Computer Technology and an industry-led pilot course in Boiler Technology.The QCPU established its reputation among local government units as a show window and model technology-based institution paving the way for its recognition of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and developing a strong alliance with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).In 2001, Ordinance SP – 1030 created a charter for the establishment of Quezon City Polytechnic University. QCPU started its operation by offering one (1) year programs and short term courses. By the year 2005, QCPU started offering college degree courses. Right now, QCPU prides itself in providing employment to its graduates and serves as a tool for national development, particularly in Quezon City.Under the leadership of Mayor Feliciano Belmonte, Jr., starting SY 2005, meaningful access to higher education is now possible with a ladderized concept of pursuing higher education. The idea is that every person should have the opportunity for education and training commensurate to his abilities.
