Overview Make a difference and advance your career with Chong Hua Hospital, the Philippines' premier healthcare destination Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire a Patient Safety Officer who coordinates and communicates patient safety protocols among the hospital’s healthcare staff, ensuring provision of quality care that is accessible, safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, equitable, and appropriate. This position implements and monitors all patient quality management activities for the hospital, including patient care and patient relations, adherence to established standards & policies, risk management and safety performance improvement, and infection control audit of action plans. Responsibilities Patient Safety Audit Management & Implementation: ensure consistent compliance with existing protocols, guidelines, processes, procedures, standards, and hospital policies across divisions, departments, units, and the hospital. Coordinate with the Patient Safety Manager to develop, implement, and oversee an effective Patient Safety Inspection and Audit that complies with established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Maintain current knowledge of patient safety policies and procedures across Chong Hua Hospital to perform internal audit functions. Research industry standards’ best practices and provide recommended action plans for effective implementation across the organization. Collaborate with the Patient Safety Officer and Manager to generate patient safety audit checklists based on hospital policies, procedures, and unit work instructions. Assist in the development of the Patient Safety audit plan and work schedule. Conduct standard closeout meetings with audited staff and leaders after each audit to discuss findings, raise concerns, and address urgent issues. Collate patient safety audit results and provide copies to the Patient Safety Officer and Patient Safety Manager; discuss results and concerns with the Manager for guidance and review. Provide timely and accurate feedback on major and minor non-conformities to the relevant department managers or leaders. Conduct patient safety audit report-outs to affected departments and issue corrective action request forms to departments with non-compliance or observations needing action. Provide recommendations for tools and documentation (e.g., work instructions, department manuals) to validate compliance with established standards. Collaborate with management and staff to monitor identified quality indicators and actions resulting from data analysis and recommendations. Collate raw quality indicator data and provide feedback to the immediate supervisor as issues arise. Monitor progress of corrective action requests and review effectiveness of corrective actions. Analysis of Quality Data: generate graphical reports based on collected data and classify data as hospital priorities (1) Required Clinical Monitors, (2) Required Administrative Monitors, (3) IPSG Monitors. Analyze all collated data for assigned quality indicators and provide recommendations as needed. Apply data sampling and analysis techniques to auditing activities, including appropriate statistical methodologies. Review internal quality standards and compliance audit results to improve compliance with standards, policies, and procedures. Independently apply basic and advanced problem-solving tools in complex situations. Develop data collection tools to meet project goals and enhance data quality. Manage data standardization and integrity, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, validity, and timeliness of all patient safety data. May be assigned to projects working independently or with cross-functional teams and may be asked to make recommendations on team performance. Provide analyses on processes, policies, and procedures based on research or gathered data. Qualifications Graduate of any four- or five-year course, preferably BS Industrial Engineering or any paramedical field. 0–3 years of working experience in areas such as: Quality in Healthcare; Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI); Total Quality Management (TQM); Internal Quality Audits / Process Audits; Problem Solving Processes. Healthcare industry experience is a plus. Excellent customer relation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications. Effective communication skills. Proficiency in Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; ability to communicate in English is an advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
